Prof Pitot holds BSc Eng and MSc Eng degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and is currently studying for a PhD in mechanical engineering from Stellenbosch University. He is a member of the Discipline of Mechanical Engineering’s Aerospace Systems Research Group and Group for Solar Energy Thermodynamics, which he leads.
