Mrs. Nyembe is a Developmental Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at UKZN. She obtained both her BSc and MSc degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, where she graduated with distinction. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering at UKZN. Her research focuses on the development of advanced membrane materials for sustainable water treatment, with a particular emphasis on membrane distillation for seawater desalination and reverse osmosis brine management.

Mrs. Nyembe is passionate about advancing engineering research that delivers practical and sustainable solutions to pressing environmental challenges while fostering the next generation of chemical engineers.
